The welding department, here at Magnus Hitech, has recently added another unit to its line up, further diversifying methods of welding and making it more efficient. Miller’s state of the art AlumaFeed™ Synergic Aluminum Welding System uses the productivity and simplicity of MIG (Molybdenum Inert Gas), but provides a TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) feel and appearance. The AlumaFeed uses a wire feeding mechanism which elimates the need to manually applying welding wire to the product. This, undoubtedly, allows the welder to have a free hand, allowing them to work more comfortably and accurately.

Features included in the AlumaFeed, such as Hot Start, help begin and end welds accurately, without messy puddles. The Crater ability is another useful feature which prevents from making crater defects. It does so by gradually decreasing the rate of currents when ending a weld. And with the built-in programmable Pulsed Programs, peak and background currents are automatically adjusted into sync with the welder’s desired wire speed, virtually eliminating warping and distorting.

The delivery of our new Mazak Integrex 200 IV S

December 15th, 2009

Today was the delivery date of our newest machine, the Mazak Integrex 200 IV S-Series. The Integrex is a 6-axis CNC mill that’s considered to be one of the most used multi-tasking machines in the world, tackling tasks such as turning, milling, grinding, contouring, and much more. It also includes numerous advanced functions, such as Active Vibration Control, which reduces tool vibration, generating products and finishes of higher quality. Mazak uses the phrase “Done-On-One” when referring to the machines capability of single set up processing, which significantly reduces production time. Below are a few photos, click on an icon to enlarge.

Nunzio Zappola

Nunzio Zappola
Engineering Manager

We are sad to report that the Magnus family has lost one of its most respected members today.  Nunzio Zappola passed away earlier this morning.

Nunzio started with our founder Angelo Bonarrigo Sr. in New York back in the ‘70s and moved to Florida when Magnus Hitech Industries Inc. was opened in 1984.

We send our prayers and sympathies to his wife and children as well as all his family and friends.  He was an outstanding member of the community and he will be greatly missed.

Magnus Hitech recently made a donation to the Melbourne Fire Department with efforts to keep Melbourne safe and beautiful. It was a contribution made that will help the Melbourne Fire Department and the National Fire Safety Council, Inc.  educate not only children, but their parents as well, with the basics and importance of fire prevention and safety. The National Fire Safety Council, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that has been educating families since 1979 with their own exclusively designed materials and demonstrations.
